My Travel Resources
Welcome to the Kim’s History Travel Resource Hub – your one-stop guide for planning unforgettable journeys to the world’s most meaningful destinations. These resources and services are here to make your trip easier, smoother, and more inspiring.
I personally use these resources and recommend for planning, booking, and traveling smart.

Where to Book Your Stay
- Booking.com – My #1 choice for flexible, affordable accommodations worldwide. I love the easy filters for location, cancellation policies, and guest reviews.
- HotelWorld – Great for earning free nights while discovering new places.
- Trip.com – A strong platform, especially for finding deals in Asia and less-touristy locations.
- Expedia – A reliable platform for booking hotels, especially when you’re looking for bundled savings (flight + hotel deals). I use Expedia when I want to compare prices quickly and see reviews in one place. They often have exclusive discounts and last-minute deals.
➡️ Tip: Want to stay near biblical or historical sites? Filter by landmarks or use Google Maps when choosing your stay.
Flights & Transportation
- Kiwi – A flexible flight search tool that uncovers unique, affordable routes, especially for complex itineraries.
- Discover Cars – My go-to for reliable rental cars, especially when public transit is limited (like in parts of Greece or the U.S.).
- HolidayTaxis – Great for booking airport-to-hotel transfers in advance and avoiding taxi hassles on arrival.
- KiwiTaxi – Useful for private transportation, especially in more remote or less-connected locations.
- Expedia UK – A solid option for flight and hotel bundles in Europe and beyond.
- Trip.com – Excellent for booking flights and transport across Asia or multiple regions.
➡️ I always cross-check at least 2 sites before booking international flights.

Tours & Activities
- GetYourGuide – Great for skip-the-line and expert-led tours at major historic landmarks and city highlights.
- Viator – A trusted platform for local tours and unique experiences, from walking tours to multi-day adventures.
- TripAdvisor – Good for browsing top-rated things to do and reading honest traveler reviews.
- Expedia (US/CA & UK) – Reliable for booking group and private excursions.
- Big Bus Tours – Perfect for hop-on, hop-off tours in cities with a lot to see, especially when you want a quick overview before diving deeper.
➡️ Skip-the-line tours are worth it in busy seasons – save your energy for the sites, not the wait.
Travel Insurance
- SafetyWing – A budget-friendly option for long-term and international travel. They are great as you can buy insurance when you’re already abroad. Once I bought my travel insurance while sitting in the plane waiting for departure!
- EKTA – Offers robust coverage, including for more active trips and gear.
➡️ Don’t skip this. I once had to cancel a trip due to illness, and insurance saved me hundreds.
